André Rocha, CEO of Sifaeg/Sifaçúcar, has been attending the United Nations Climate Summit (COP29) in Baku, Azerbaijan, since last Tuesday.
The executive was present at the meeting in which Vice President Geraldo Alckmin and several other Brazilian authorities, together with CNI representatives, discussed the main agendas taken by Brazil to the Summit.
André took the opportunity to express the bioenergy sector’s concern about the PEC, which provides for an end to the 6/1 working day in a scenario where the country is facing a labor shortage and low productivity.
Another issue he discussed with the Brazilian authorities was the need to make progress in order to start testing the E30 as soon as possible.
The representative of Sifaeg and CNI also took part in the meeting that the Brazilian government held with various representatives of civil society.
The main objective of COP 29 is to develop climate finance mechanisms to help developing countries decarbonize their economies.
